In January 2024, Tucson Prime Timers (TPT) celebrated two years of growth in activities and membership. Our celebration began with announcing our new logo, crafted by TPT member, James McC. a graphic designer. James wanted the logo to represent the friendships and camaraderie he’s experienced in TPT. To make this truly about TPT, James used actual TPT members rather than clip art. He took a photo of nine arm-in-arm members, made each individual opaque in a different color, then added a couple of saguaros and our group name. (The members in the logo are, L to R, Mitch M, Sam P, Chris A, Randy A-M, Tim A-M, Randy B, Bob L, Steve D and Mel H). The response of TPT members to the new logo has been very positive!
Our celebration wound up with our Annual Party on January 24, attended by 50 members at the spacious Arts Express Theater. TPT provided the chicken, beverages, ice, plates and utensils. The rest of the feast was a potluck of a fantastic variety of delicious foods! The small “cocktail” tables encouraged smaller groups to facilitate conversation, yet the ample floor space allowed members to walk around from table to table to join in other conversations as well.
A particular hit at the party was the antique Street Organ, owned and operated by our member, Bob B. We also used the party to introduce our new logo T-shirt, available for order by members.
